Anti - Ragging :-
Gracious College is committed to providing a safe, secure, and respectful environment for all its students. In accordance with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, and directives of the Supreme Court of India, our college has adopted a strict zero-tolerance policy towards ragging in any form.
Definition of Ragging:
Ragging means any conduct — whether by words spoken or written, by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating, or handling a fellow student with rudeness, involving disorderly behavior that causes psychological or physical harm, embarrassment, or discomfort.
Prohibited Activities Include:
- Physical or mental abuse.
- Forcing a student to perform any humiliating or indecent act.
- Threatening or intimidating a student.
- Creating an environment of fear or mental trauma.
Anti-Ragging Measures:
- The college has constituted an Anti-Ragging Committee and Anti-Ragging Squads
comprising senior faculty and administrative staff. - Surprise checks and regular interactions are conducted to prevent any such incidents.
- Anti-Ragging helpline numbers and complaint boxes are provided on campus to
report any incident. - Freshers are assured safety and are sensitized to their rights during orientation
programs.
Strict Action Against Ragging:
Any student found indulging in ragging shall face strict disciplinary action as per the UGC guidelines, including:
- Suspension or expulsion from the institution
- Withdrawal of scholarships and other benefits.
- Debarring from appearing in exams.
- Police complaints or legal action, if necessary.

Our institution strongly believes that education flourishes in a supportive and respectful environment. By collectively pledging against ragging, we aim to uphold the dignity and safety of every student and promote a culture of mutual respect, empathy, and equality.
